Court Yard

2 months of construction went into building the court yard of the Hostel Mangalem. The design elements followed centuries old contsruction. Elements of stone stairs and walls are an inviting attraction to the overall structure and wooden, outdoor seating fully enhances the space. As time passes, grape vines and pomegranate trees will blossom all around!

Exterior Bathroom

Here we are rebuilding the exterior bathroom. This bathroom pictured here has had the ceiling removed which also serves as a veranda above. In keeping with the traditional toilet of the Mangalem, a "squat toilet" has been fixed. (Additionally a shower and sink function has been added for an additional, full bathroom.) This exterior toilet is a special novelty many tourists enjoy visiting.

Veranda Rebuild

A photo of Hostel Mangalem's veranda. This photo represents a full rebuild of the house's veranda. Residents can overlook the river below and find shade from the roof and growing grape vines. To further enhance the experience, enjoying Turkish coffee while observing Albanian culture pass on the main street below is a worldly treat!
